Open Door Policy

All who believe everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with our work.  We accept people to help us regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or other distinctions that often divide people.

In short, Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people who need decent housing regardless of race or religion.

As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.

About CRRHFH

Caroline, King & Queen, Westmoreland, Richmond County, and Essex County Habitat for Humanity are an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit non-denominational Christian housing organization.

Central Rappahannock River Habitat for Humanity was formed in 1996 by residents to bring affordable housing to the area.  We believe decent shelter is a matter of conscience and action and we invite all people to work together to build houses for families who need adequate, affordable housing.

By bringing together people of all races, backgrounds, and religions in this common cause, CRRHFH hopes to foster personal relationships among God’s people that will encourage mutual understanding and respect. Our most challenging goal is locating building lots in these counties and raising money to cover escalating land costs and building materials.

With our help and the community's help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. Central Rapphannock River Habitat for Humanity is an Equal Opportunity Housing Agency and an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer.

Our Senior Leaders.

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of the U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
